Dessert Tacos

Take Taco Tuesday to the next level with these fun dessert tacos! The flavor combos are endless!

Everyone loves Taco Tuesday! One of the best parts about tacos, in my opinion, is that you can very simply layer in all the flavor you want. And while there is NOTHING wrong with the original, I like to re-imagine dishes. Take something old and make it new and fun.

It has been many years since I enjoyed a Choco Taco, but they were pretty awesome and the inspiration behind this dish. A sweet taco shell with a creamy filling and tons of fun toppings screams summertime fun. No need to wait for the ice cream truck!

You can also make them gluten free. I made some with brown rice tortillas. Let's just say...they didn't turn out quite so pretty. Be very gentle, but they still tasted delicious!

Do Choco Tacos still exist?

Invented in Philadelphia in 1983, these ice-cream truck tacos were popular for many years. These sweet treats featured a waffle cone, shaped like a taco shell, with vanilla ice cream, fudge, peanuts, and a milk chocolate coating. They were discontinued in 2022.
