Simple Air Fryer French Fries

Make these air fryer French fries for a quick snack or side! Homemade & healthier- ready in just 10 minutes!

Need a quick, salty snack, but don't want to turn on the oven??? Or heat a quart of oil on the stove??? If you don't already have an air fryer- this may be your wake-up call!

Dun dah dah dun...

With an air fryer, you can make calorie-free snacks and desserts! Ok...not really, but you could make your very own French fries! With minimal oil, but tons of flavor!

Potatoes were one of the first things I ever air fried. My dad has always made the best breakfast potatoes! He would slice potatoes and sauté them in a skillet. They were amazing, but they took FOREVER to cook.

And then I bought an air fryer. Now, I can slice and dice some potatoes, drizzle with a little oil, salt, and pepper and while they are roasting to a crispy golden brown, I can prepare a delightful western omelette. Yum-my!

Finally, I can have French fries for breakfast! These simple fries are great if you're an air fryer newbie or just need an effortless salty snack.

Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The way all fries should be.

Red Potato Wedges in Air Fryer

Ingredients in Simple Air Fryer French Fries

  • Red Potatoes
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Optional: Montreal Chicken Seasoning

How Long To Cook Fries In Air Fryer:

Set your air fryer to 400 degrees. Then, add the sliced potatoes to the basket. Keep them in a single layer and do not overcrowd. Cook for about 10 minutes, shaking the basket 2-3 times, until brown and crisp.

Air Fryer French Fries Tips:

  • Spread potatoes into a single layer and do not overcrowd the basket. Otherwise, they will steam. Crispy French fries require space. If you use more than 2 medium potatoes you will need to cook in at least 2 batches.
  • Air fryers vary a bit. Check the basket every few minutes. I prefer softer fries. For crispier fries, allow to cook for a few extra minutes.
