Healthy Burger Bowls

With healthy burger bowls, burger night can feature these low carb bowls loaded with all of your juicy burger favorites!

Once in a while, I crave a burger with all of the fixings. Plump. Medium. Juicy. With cheese, tomato slices, and shredded lettuce. But, gluten free. Without any dressing. Oh, and big, steak-cut fries. Hold the pickles. Wait...that meal has how many calories?!?

Burger bowls are a great alternative! More similar to a lettuce-wrapped burger or burger salad. It's basically a burger with more of the good stuff (ie. veggies) and less of the bad stuff, (ie. fat, calories, carbs.) A fun and easy dinner that will please almost everyone!

Now, I would take this bowl over McDonald's any day of the week! Actually, I never really find myself craving a burger from the golden arches... I prefer big, juicy, and REAL ingredients; but, I digress...

I didn't add any pickles, but that's just a personal preference. It's your burger bowl...go crazy!

Burger Bowl with Waffle Sweet Potato Fries

Ingredients in Healthy Burger Bowls

  • Ground Beef: I recommend grass-fed.
  • Bacon: A little goes a long way.
  • Sweet Potato Fries
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes
  • Onion
  • Cheese
  • Burger Bowl Dressing
  • Optional: Pickles, Avocado, etc.

Homemade Burger Bowl Dressing

Most burger bowl dressings begin with mayonnaise. I tried! I really did! But, almost every single mayonnaise, even organic varieties, start with soybean oil....which just isn't the healthiest oil. At least, that's my excuse...and I'm sticking to it! Instead, I used plain Greek yogurt and I'd say it was a MAJOR win!

Greek Yogurt

Ketchup

Mustard

Sweet Relish: Trust me- I do NOT put relish on anything, but a little in this dressing is amazing!

Coconut Aminos or Soy Sauce

Garlic Powder

Onion Powder

Paprika

Optional: Sriracha

What is a burger bowl?

Take everything you love about a juicy burger and place it in a bowl. Well...minus the bun, but you could add croutons. It's similar to a burger salad, except there is typically less lettuce and more of all the other stuff!
