Homemade Slow Cooker Apple Butter

Ingredients

  • 20 apples, peeled & diced (about 5 lbs.)
  • 3/4 c. coconut or brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. First, wash, core, and dice the apples. I also peeled the apples, but you can leave the peels.
  2. Add the apples to the slow cooker. Then, top with the coconut/brown sugar, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, and salt. Cover and cook on low for 10 hours.
  3. Use an immersion blender to blend the apple mixture. You can also use a regular blender, but be careful with the steam.
  4. Next, cook uncovered in the slow cooker for 1 more hour, stirring occasionally.
  5. Finally, turn off the slow cooker and stir in the vanilla.
