Ingredients

  • 1 - 1 ¼ lb. ground chicken
  • ¼ of a small onion, grated
  • 1-2 Tbsp. hot sauce (plus more for topping)
  • 1 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. onion powder
  • Salt & pepper

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground chicken, hot sauce, melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Then, grate the onion directly over the ground chicken. Mix gently until just combined — don’t overwork it.
  2. Shape into 4 evenly-sized patties. If the mixture is sticky, chill it for 10–15 minutes to help it firm up.
  3. Grill, pan-fry, or cook in a skillet over medium heat for 4–5 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  4. If desired, lightly toast the burger buns for extra texture and flavor. Drizzle the burger with more hot sauce, then layer on lettuce, tomato, and onion. Top with crumbled blue cheese if you’re feeling bold.
