Apple Crostata
For a simple dessert perfect for fall, this apple crostata is a winner! Baked cinnamon apples, with a crumb topping, all atop a free form pie...it's autumn on a plate.

Ingredients
- 1 refrigerated pie crust
- 6 - 8 medium apples, peeled & sliced
- 3 Tbsp. orange juice
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. corn starch
Crumb Topping
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/8 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 Tbsp. butter, cold & cubed
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- In a medium mixing bowl, mix the apples, orange juice, cinnamon, and corn starch. Carefully, unroll pie crust on sheet pan. Next, pour the apple filling in the center. Leave about a 2 inch border.
- Then, sprinkle the crumb topping over the apples. Fold the crust over the top of the apples. If desired, brush crust with melted butter. Then, bake for 28-30 minutes, until apples are fork tender. Top with whipped cream, caramel, and/or vanilla ice cream.
